Who is the  Ranger  Pro Team?

Greetings from Ranger! We are a family owned business that is dedicated to providing the firefighter community high quality equipment for facilitating safe and comfortable transport of essential safety equipment and supplies for fire fighters during and following firefighting events.

We would like to take this opportunity to tell you a little about ourselves and our business.

I was trained as a mechanical engineer and after school spent two years in the Army at Fort Belvoir, Virginia. During the years spent at the US Army Engineer School, I was an instructor in construction drafting, teaching AIT recruits from the Army, Air Force and Marines about designing, drawing and constructing roads, bridges and airfields. After the Service Years, I worked as a project engineer for the first 10 years. At that time I traveled all over the US and abroad for Litton Industries designing, installing, repairing and troubleshooting conveyor systems which handled everything from radioactive isotopes and typewriters to fire brick and bananas.

In the middle 70s, I left engineering to explore a career change. My first effort was in real estate. I sold homes and investment properties and managed the properties for profit. The economic slump of the late 70s and early 80s compelled me to attempt another experiment, this time in General Contracting. I did repairs, additions and new construction in a rural area of Riverside County, California.

It was then that I took the opportunity to join the local volunteer fire department as a way of giving back to the community in which I lived and made my livelihood. I have been associated with the fire service since 1988 where I started as a volunteer with CDF in Riverside County. Shortly after I also associated as a volunteer with CDF in San Bernardino County in Johnson Valley, California. During that period the Landers Earthquake hit our region.

I graduated from the CDF Volunteer Engineer Academy at Ryan Field, Hemet, California in November 1990 and was certified as an EMT. In 1996, I relocated to the city and was not allowed to volunteer again until my wife and I moved to Canyonville, Oregon in 2002. We joined the Canyonville South Umpqua Fire Department as volunteers soon after our arrival.

My primary vocation is still as a General Contractor. My wife Yvonne, who retired from Verizon, was in need of something to keep her busy and accomplishing things. Throughout her lifetime she has made many articles of clothing for herself and others. She has become an accomplished seamstress and loves to be creative. We looked for a small business venture which would utilize both of our talents and interests and were fortunate to find Ranger.

In August 2006, we took the reins of Ranger with the goal of making an already good product with an outstanding reputation for quality, durability, and comfort, even better. It is both our hope and our joy to provide quality products upon which wild land firefighters can depend and rely.
